Resin driveways FAQ — what people ask
For planning regulations, conservation restrictions, base overlays, or logistics specific to your address, choose your dedicated town or borough page.
Ask us anythingHow much does a resin bound driveway cost?
Resin bound driveway costs typically range from £80 to £130 per square metre for overlay installations, depending on base condition, size, aggregate choice, and access. Complete excavations and sub-base preparation cost more. We provide a written quote following our free site assessment.
Do I need planning permission for a resin bound driveway?
In most cases, no. Resin bound is a fully permeable surface, satisfying Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) guidelines. Under permitted development rules, a porous front driveway does not require planning permission. Conservation area and listed property rules apply.
How long does a resin driveway installation take?
A typical residential driveway installation takes two to three days — one day for ground/base preparation and cleaning, and one to two days for mixing, laying, and trowelling the resin aggregates. The surface is ready for vehicle traffic after 24 to 48 hours.
What guarantee do you offer on resin bound driveways?
We provide a written 15-year guarantee with every installation. This guarantee covers loose aggregate stone, cracking, UV discolouration, and surface breakdown when installed over our open-graded sub-base.
Can resin bound be laid over my existing driveway?
Yes. If your existing concrete or tarmac sub-base is structurally sound, stable, and drains correctly, we prime and overlay at 18-22mm. If the base has significant cracking or movement, we excavate and build a stable porous sub-base first.
